Indigenous Award in Heritage Resources Management

Your gift makes it possible for any Indigenous student to take a course in the Heritage Resources Management program, and is a clear sign that our program welcomes and encourages Indigenous participation and perspectives in our field.

R.I.S.E.

While reflecting on how I, as an individual, could contribute to the collective conciliation efforts taking place at the program, faculty, and university level in meaningful, impactful, and sustainable ways, I decided to invite my daughter to work with me closely, as I believe this effort is an important intergenerational learning opportunity that we could share in moving towards conciliation.

She created this piece of artwork, titled “R.I.S.E.” in support of this award, as a way to express her understanding of conciliation and in the spirit of cross-cultural collaboration. R.I.S.E. stands for Resilience, Integrity, Strength & Equity. I believe small actions and steps such as this one will help in creating even larger, meaningful and more impactful actions.

Your donation will be part of our collective conciliation efforts to support Indigenous learners and rectify the injustices of the past and present.
