Bachelor of Arts, Women's and Gender Studies Major - Learning outcomes

As a result of completing this program, students should be able to:

  • Critically analyze the diversity of gendered experience and its intersections with Indigeneity, race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, disability, and beyond.
  • Use insights gained from intersectional feminist and gender theories to analyze, discrimination, inequity, marginalization, and oppression.
  • Apply critically-derived insights to inform advocacy and contribute to creative problem -solving that fosters solidarity and social justice.
  • Communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and or visually, a cohesive connection between theory-derived insights, advocacy, and real-world applications.
  • Assess and/or apply theory-informed methodologies and methods in the design of intersectional research, creative, and community-based projects.
